STEM Curriculum

Westside Schools' intent for our STEM Programme is to provide students with a comprehensive education that focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We believe that STEM education plays a crucial role in preparing students for the future job market and equipping them with the necessary skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. By integrating these disciplines into our curriculum, we aim to foster innovative thinking, curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and communication among our students.

It is particularly important for girls to have a good understanding of STEM and consider careers in the STEM industry. Historically, women have been underrepresented in these fields, and by encouraging girls to pursue STEM subjects and careers, we can help bridge this gender gap. Providing equal opportunities for girls to excel in STEM not only benefits them individually but also contributes to a more diverse and inclusive workforce. It is crucial that we empower young girls to challenge societal stereotypes and inspire them to explore their interests and talents in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The importance of STEM education lies in its ability to prepare students for high-demand careers. As technology continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, there is an increasing need for individuals who possess strong STEM skills. Jobs in the STEM industry are projected to grow significantly in the coming years, and by providing students with a solid foundation in these disciplines, we are helping them secure promising career prospects. Furthermore, STEM education encourages critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and adaptability – qualities that are highly valued in any profession.
